MUNITIONS MINI INTERVIEW FOR THE MASSIVE UNHOLY GOOD FRIDAY GIG

MUNITIONS MINI INTERVIEW FOR THE MASSIVE UNHOLY GOOD FRIDAY GIG

MUNITIONS (Fresh off a Shotties headline — relentless riffs)

You just headlined at Shotties — what's the hangover from that show like, and how do you follow something that landed well?

MUNITIONS:

Yeah that was our first Headliner and did really well! Venue was stoked and hopefully punters were stoked too with the killer line up we all put together. Following that ,we are played the mighty FLIPPING THE BIRD Fest In Frankston end of Feb, then our next show will be this one!

"Relentless and Heavy" gets thrown around a lot — what does that actually mean in the way you write and perform?

MUNITIONS:

Haha, i guess it does. In the way we write, we basically trust, try and put together songs that have hook after hook [hopefully] along with tight playing, groove, a bit of flair and super aggressive Vocals. And hopefully this translates live"

What are you working on right now, and what direction is it pulling you in?

MUNITIONS:

We are working on 8 new songs for our debut LP. It will be , like all our stuff a mix of all the stuff we love in Extreme Metal. DEATH, BLACK, THRASH!" But hopefully, with a slight direction change, but subtle

Is there a specific riff or moment from a recent set that you feel like sums up where the band is at?

MUNITIONS:

We love it when a mad mosh gets going. A few riffs and bits seem to get the crazies going. can't recall which exactly!

Who is Munitions — how did the band start, and who's in the room when you write?

MUNITIONS:

I guess it started with myself[Dave-guitar  & Marcus guitar], who were previously in a Thrash band called Join The Amish. We wanted to basically get a band like this going and Marcus had been in bands with Clint Williams the singer, so we got him and thats history. He had been in Nemesium from Geelong" Tim was next our drummer who we also knew from the Goulburn Valley as that's where Marcus/Erik/Clint are from. And finally we got Erik on bass, Marcus's brother, with whom the duo have been in bands together since they were teenagers. So it all gels quite well together now.

Run us through your discography — what have you put out and what does each release represent for the band?

MUNITIONS:

2 eps, One called BLACK WIND, other called REMOTE DEATH.

Got both on One 12" record. The ep's online too.

We like em!!

Heavy music is a crowded place with many great options in Melbourne— what makes Munitions worth stopping and paying attention to?

MUNITIONS:

We channel raw aggression, melancholy and

atmosphere into tightly composed, riff-heavy

songs that demand both thought and mosh-pit

energy.

Are you hyped for this epic show on 3rd April for UNHOLY GOOD FRIDAY?

Very much so, the lineup is huge, and we're grateful to be a part of such a stacked lineup.
