The Scourge of Modern Metal/Hardcore By Sir Mark Jenkins

The Scourge of Modern Metal/Hardcore By Mark Jenkins. A rant you may disagree with, but I know that I am correct. I find it hilarious that all this current championing of particularly hardcore and, to a degree, some metal bands is considered the new golden age. I have some breaking news for you: this is actually some of the most insipid low-level counterculture audio I have heard in a long time. Now before you get the nails out to crucify me and shout boomer, boomer or who the fuck are you, you don't get the culture blah blah blah... Take a deep breath and understand that, indeed: -I am well aware that Hardcore is mainly a youth culture, or the main audience is pretty much 20-30 year olds -I will never slag off any interest in underground culture( Underground is the keyword here)this is the culture that motivates even as a whingey, mouthpiece -I grew up in the age of word of mouth, zines, tape trading and radio stations spreading the gospel of punk, hardcore and metal. I am far f...

Schkeuditzer Kreuz split EP with Decide Today. FFO: Nasty Industrial Punk Gold!. Wow, what a smashing 7" to rip holes in your eardrums.  And such a mix of one-person anarcho electropunk madness with utterly different styles and all incredible stuff to be played on repeat. Bio: Primary project of Robert Inhuman following the end of the original Realicide band at the turn of 2011. Spanning genres such as industrial, breakcore, darkwave and ambient. Subject matter maintains focus akin to anarcho-punk and radical hip-hop. The mission is contribution to various liberation movements, whether decades ongoing or emerging from the current political climate. Based in Cincinnati. Suss out Decide Today, quite simply he combines anarchopunk with frenzied breakcore and industrial punk and it delivers the political sledgehammer to your face, as it should be. Revolutionary Reason is certainly an angry as fuck catchy anarcho beast of a track and is as hyper as a 8-year-old on 9 Red Bulls or...

Blood in the Champagne-Evolve Like a Chrysalis EP review. FFO: Brilliant, searing Gothic Post-Punk. Damn, this Gothic Post-Punk band have impressed the hell out of me since their inception. It certainly feels like this band have been around forever, given the absolute quality of both their dynamic live shows and the gems on this debut release. If you are a fan of any Goth, Darkwave or Post-Punk genres, be prepared to fall in love with the glorious audio offerings of Evolve like a Chrysalis. The soundscapes are very much a mix of the finest Gothic and Post-artists, whilst utterly sounding very original. This trio is completely full of vigour and temperamental energy across this EP, but this is stunning confident and catchy as hell. The tone is always brooding, scorching and grim. And I am completely in awe of every track. Red Dust is a breathtaking opener; that contains all the moody and brisk energy we want from a leading post-punk band. It simmers with the buzzing bass, dominan...
