Dogz of War Interview, FFO:Straight Up Hardcore legends.

Towards the end of last year, we reviewed this band's killer comeback album, Judgement and you still need it as it holds up well as a metallic hardcore classic. So we had a chance to finally interview this band and it was a cracker. It was a pleasure to chat with Enzo from this classic band, he was a genuine, down-to-earth man and was inspiring as hell!!! Enjoy!!!

Hey brothers, what made you come back after a long extended leave from the band? I mean this is a very solid and confident album? You must be pleased with the final product?

Enzo-

The album has been in the works for years, but between having families and full-time jobs, we just decided it was time and yes we are very pleased with how it all turned out!.

Do you feel this builds on the legacy of the first album?

 Enzo-

I believe it does, but even more so musically, we have improved a lot and I believe we have become more diverse over the years.

The lyrics are classic hardcore without a doubt? What drives you lyrically, it's not like the world is getting better eh?

Enzo-

What drives me personally to write lyrics is for the most part, my life experiences, things that I have gone through and what is going on in the world around us, often it seems we are in a continual downward spiral and it's not getting better.

The album has a huge edge over other contenders with the solid guitar work, it just adds so much? Tell me why the love for the riff is huge on this release?

Enzo-

Since I sing and play the guitar on this release, I was very particular about my guitar and its tone, a fair amount has to do with the amp I use, if it sounds weak, it's not for me!!!

What are the main messages or themes of this album?

Enzo-

My message is: stand up for what is right and don't let people or the powers that be, control you and walk all over you, or further their agenda, WE ARE THE RESISTANCE!!!

This album will be sensational live, what are the plans for delivering this beast live?

Enzo-

It's all about the stage show, we have always took pride in putting on the best live show we can, if it's face paint and full camo to Kung Fu gear, it's always something different.

Why should people go out and buy this album? Also what bands are resonating with the band, releases, new bands etc

Enzo-

People need to buy CD's and records and support bands these days because it's very much welcome to the digital age, where many people can get your music for free download,. As for bands in Detroit, there is a lot of talent around that's for sure, but bands that have been around are Poison Tongues, Anti Up and Ill Matic to name a few!

Talk me through the concept of the album's cover art, because it is amazingly sick?

Enzo-

Album art is the concept of Craig Holloway, he's like a wizard of art, hahaha I kind of gave him the concept I was thinking of and this was the result!

What are the band's plans now? Another release? More videos?

Enzo-

We are going to play shows and fests, and release our entire catalogue including demos, a re-release of Undisputed with bonus tracks on 1054 Records and yes, do more videos!

I love the album and I am stoked the band is back out there firing on all cylinders, this is your best release by a mile, how does it feel to be part of a killer band that defines the glory of your area?

…and what makes Detroit Hardcore so Detroit?

Enzo-

This band has always been fun, we are a brotherhood, we are family, we stick together and always have and always will be!!

Detroit Hardcore is from the streets of the working class, we came from broken dreams and broken homes, we fight to survive, we overcame, and we are the DxHxC!!

ENZO. D.

Thanks for your time brother and cannot wait for the next instalment.
