"Psycroptic have become the band other technical death metal acts measure themselves against" A deep chat with Jason Peppiatt.
Over two decades out of Tasmania, Psycroptic have become the band other technical death metal acts measure themselves against. The Pulse of Annihilation, their ninth album and first for Metal Blade after a long run with Prosthetic, landed in July with the Haley brothers still at the core and Joe producing at his own Crawlspace. In my review, I called it one of the band’s best, leaner and more urgent than they’ve sounded in years, with the vocal chemistry between Jason Peppiatt and Jason Keyser of Origin finally locked in.
We absolutely dug the album that dropped a few months back, so check the review:

I caught up with Peppiatt, the Aussie half of that twin-vocal attack:
-to talk about how it works: how the parts get split and how two vocalists in two countries make one record
-how it translates live
-we also dig into the move to Metal Blade
-the themes and artwork behind the album
-what it means to carry a legacy out of Tasmania to the entire world
Jason was as expected to be down to earth, and this was a timeless interview as he also discussed the rigours of touring as the band ages, how the passion has no chance of easing off and how the next album plans are already in the works, between the seemingly endless tours and so much more.
Ripper of a chat!!
