Entertain the Terror-Love Your Hangman EP review. FFO: Blazingly grim death metal influenced hardcore.
More gems from an absolutely huge year of releases from Australia's 1054 records. And this shit is hard as fuck, I mean so much euro beatdown or hard-edged hardcore is generic as hell. But Entertain the Terror are french bulldogs on top of the genre. Everything sounds grim and gritty, and from a dirty alleyway with blood stains and syringes etc. Besides the killer song structures, disgustingly gorgeous riffs and psychotic vocals is a production that is very standout. This simply sounds so dynamic, live and aggressive, in fact, I can't recall a sound so captivating and punchy. The EP itself continues five awesome tracks that start off with an epicly heavy intro and all are varied in pace and structure which demands a full album sooner than later. My fave tracks were: Pawn that drips in scintillating razor-sharp guitar work and once the accelerator is pressed you are drawn into a hornet's nest of aggression. Love your Hangman closes the release in a punishing way that is hinted across the release and it showcases how skilled the band is, with a perfect mix of hardcore, beatdown and death metal.
Highly recommended and brutal as fuck!!.
