FULL OF HELL INTERVIEW WITH DYLAN WALKER BY MARK J. THIS IS A BRILLIANT AND SOLID INTERVIEW WITH ONE OF THE WORLD'S BEST BANDS. Full of Hell is one of the most productive extreme music bands in the last 15 years. Their catalogue is flawless and anyone who has listened to or watched an interview with this band knows that they are passionate about their craft and genuine as fuck.  In August, they make their third visit to Australia and bring Thou here as a co-headliner(also that killer band's first visit here, yes it's a big deal) so I was rapt to have a long-form with their excellent singer and all-round awesome human being, Dylan. Amongst many cavernous subjects we chatted about: -how the band has managed to produce so many releases in a short period -how being busy is all relative, especially once becoming a dad -how Converge is the extreme music support network as well as being a benchmark for multitasking with life, projects, bands, work and parenthood -the What would ...

True Heaviness Is Time by RUN. For all your Post-Metal needs, this is your paradise. One can rely on Lochlan Watt to bring you the goods whether it is his amazing weekly metal show or any degree of riffs/vocal war from his previous bands. Any conversation with this metal warlord quickly shows how deeply he is invested in his craft and his dedication is unparalleled. His latest herculean effort is the band RUN which seems to be developing with each release and performance. Here's the bio/presser; True Heaviness Is Time is a dynamic and powerful tour de force that grips as it slams from peak to peak, with barely a moment to breathe between explosions of lush melody and deeply crushing riffs. With an outlook forged through the fires of Watt's personal triumph over brain cancer, True Heaviness Is Time tackles the pain of existence with an aural violence powered by positivity. Featuring guest vocals from Joel Birch of The Amity Affliction, John Floreani of Trophy Eyes, and Sophie ...

Winds, Christians & Sludgy Bedlam, An Analysis of Religious Observance 7 Years of Neglect: By Myles Thomson

Winds, Christians & Sludgy Bedlam, An Analysis of Religious Observance 7 Years of Neglect: By M H Thomson                          June 20th 2024 Religious Observance (RO) has always been one of the pillars of the Melburnian sludge metal scene. Relentlessly loud and noisy, with great hooky riffs that push the boundaries of the interplay of repetition and varying dynamics. A veritable supergroup of members of She Beast, Colostomy Baguette and High Drifters, the six pieces' sheer volume (literally and figuratively) makes them an overwhelming live monster in the best way possible. But we’re not here to discuss their live show, they have a new album out titled 7 Years of Neglect , and here are my thoughts on it:   Dissent: This song starts with the low muffled sounds of swirling winds and a lonely ominous guitar riff which proceeds into a very slow bu...

Unleashing Anarchy: The Fury-X Interview-Unhinged and Essential Stenchcore by Mark.J.

Unleashing Anarchy: The Fury-X Interview-Unhinged and Essential Stenchcore by Mark J. When the world seems spiralling into chaos, there's a raw, unapologetic honesty in the music that dares to address the tumult. Enter Fury-X, an anarcho-metal punk band whose members have come together to create a sound that is as ferocious as it is insightful.   The band's history is a patchwork of chance encounters and shared passions. From meeting on the streets to jamming in living rooms, the members of Fury-X have crafted a sound deeply rooted in the metal and punk scenes of the '80s and '90s. They speak of their evolution with a candour that's as refreshing as it is rare, detailing the journey from their previous bands to the creation of something that's all their own. Fury-X's music is not just an auditory experience; it's a call to action. Their lyrics are a potent cocktail of socio-political commentary, challenging listeners to engage with the issues that ...

BRILLIANT INTERVIEW WITH BEN FROM GOATWHORE ON THE EVE OF THEIR TOUR WITH EYEHATEGOD AUSTRALIAN TOUR. EYEHATEGOD and GOATWHORE, now that is one hell of an awesome show of pure musical filth. Both bands need no introduction, endless great releases and well-documented and blistering live shows.  I had the pleasure to chat with their incredible singer and all-round top guy Ben about this tour and more: -the solid catalogue Goatwhore has and its development over time -how the killer 2022 release Angels Hung from the Arches of Heaven came about, the process and how well it was received -future tours and a potential new album -his ability to embody a pure and dynamic performance as a singer -recent reunion shows with the legendary Soilent Green -the variety and deep legacy of NOLA sounds -the pure excitement around tape trading and vinyl days before the internet(for us old bastards) -merch rising prices and hassles of choosing sizes and much more. enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/w...

Killer interview with Municipal Waste's Tony Foresta before their tour in July...hell yeah crossover legends!!! Where have you been, seriously, if you don't know about Tony's glorious bands Municipal Waste and Iron Reagan. These are incredible bands and now Tony is even fronting RKL. I have seen both bands and they are one of the most dynamic and hyper-energetic bands ever and are far from the comedy band some dumb critics claim they are. This was a wicked chat as Tony is a legit hardcore dude who knows his shit yet is chill as fuck. My fave type of interview!!. We chatted/rambled about: -his various killer bands  -other projects including Heaven's Gate -how busy he always is, what he has been up to and how sick Milwaukee Metalfest was -How awesome is it to play with legendary bands? -how important artwork, music videos and his input in this process -The Re-issue of Tango and Thrash -how he started singing for the amazing and legendary band RKL -memories of playing Au...
