Allocer-Worship. FFO; Unrelenting, powerful and savage death metal/deathcore!.

Image
Allocer-Worship.Not sure what they put in the water in Western Australia, but it must be a mix of acid-infused meth as this Death Metal unit is off the chain. These insane three tracks unleash the most brutish and grotesque end product(is there any other genre we can describe so harshly, yet it is utterly complimentary lol). These cats can play exceptionally well and have a solid focus on being skull-crushing as possible. Every riff, drum beat and insanely demonic vocal is geared for maximum impact. I haven't heard of this band before and they are a brilliant mix of Old-school death metal mixed with more modern flavours like Cattle Decapitation and brutal Deathcore. The guitars' tone sets everything up for explosive extreme metal adventures of the highest level. All three tracks are solid as hell and all are easily both set longstays as well as singles or videos on their own. Track 3-Drogher is my fave as it is peak insanity and the guttural vocals wash you over with vomit an...

Scour-Gold. FFO: Uncompromising extreme metal.

Scour-Gold. FFO: Uncompromising extreme metal. Straight up and exactly the same as when I reviewed this band's earlier EP, I made it perfectly clear I have no love for Pantera and that I think they suck balls and the hype is unwarranted. I also think Phil is a douchebag because there is no excuse for any n@zi salutes etc and I don't really care about any explanations of it. That put to the side, I think Scour is definitely where he is vocally best and the music matches the sheer aggression on this. The music and focus is on a mix of raw black metal, early grindcore and hardcore punk. This album rips hard because not only does the songwriting show how talented this band is, but the mood across the album is foreboding and downright fucking nasty. It just propels mad tempos, pissed off vocals and wild riffs into a thunderstorm and the hellscape they create is amazing. It takes really solid extreme metal influences and creates a very focused and stunning end product.Well Recommend...

Death by 1000 spinning blades: Mark's opinionated hot takes on: Gates to Hell, Anna Bortionist, Cabal, Zero Signal, NeckBreakker, and 13 Inch jesus. As reviewed by Mark Jenkins.  These are the dog bollocks, concise short reviews of shit you need to buy now. Got it, now read, buy and thank me later fuckface. We have a blindingly awesome selection of releases here. Let's go and get into these bangers. Heaps of amazing releases on this list!!!. Gates to Hell-Death Comes to All. Fuck me , I have been bursting at the seams to hear this album. A huge fan of their previous work, but here they have up the brutal even more in this hell-for leather Modern Death metal banger. It may not even play for 25 mins, but it's all hectic, endless abrasive riffs, cool transitions and tempos, and bullshit free. This is like Gatecreeper on meth or Fuming Mouth on cheap wine. And I am here for that. Love this is pure brutality, made for the moshpit. These fuckers are the kings at their craft, be ...

Ghostsmoker-Inertia Cult album review By Mark Jenkins. Unbelievable, deep-rooted blackened doom classic-Intense as hell.

Ghostsmoker-Inertia Cult album review By Mark Jenkins. Unbelievable, deep-rooted blackened doom classic-Intense as hell. Get all the wild superlatives ready, because aside from Conan(who this band played with on Wednesday night) who drop a newbie in April; this looks like a shoe-in for Doom/Sludge album of the year.  This is a seismic band that has grown with confidence with each release and their live dominance. I reviewed and fucking adored their 2022 release Grief , and I was blown away by the step-up and psychotic progression this powerful band has achieved on their debut, Inertia Cult . ( By the way, sick album name and how brilliant is the cover art, impressive as hell; but not as much as the intense as hell music). Elogium was a pre-release track that is the album's opener and gives a peak into the unhinged madness apparent across the six tracks. It has that raw and devilish journey that the band excel in. Most of the drums, bass and certainly vocals are all abo...

The Death of Batushka/The Birth of Patriarkh-photo gallery from Dec 2024 By Mark Jenkins. I realise this was last year, but I also had major health issues from Oct. 24- Jan. 25, so that was the delay, if you don't like that FOAD. The important thing is that this ritual signifies the end of one era and the beginning of a new one.The performance was grim, soul-destroying and brilliant.  Step aside from all the drama and appreciate the glorious music.I take less photos these days as we have the magnificent Dan McKay in charge of that stuff, he kills it everytime, but I had fun shooting this. At the end of this post is a link to our fantastic and insightful chat with the band before this gig. I also met the entire band post-gig backstage, and they were awesome humans, we chatted about music, polish swear words and riffs. If you missed this gig, it sucks to be you. follow, support and buy the new album: https://linktr.ee/patriarkhofficial Enjoy: Here's the interview we did with t...
