Umbra Vitae-Shadow of Life album review.

Caustic, abrasive, and raw. All these elements appeal to me as it drives my interest and I don't want easy-going or mainstream vibes from my key music preferences. Umbra Vitae is an outstanding kamikaze bunch of well-known musicians that have created a fantastically and sonically crushing debut album. It is dirty, harsh death metal deeply rooted in hardcore and extreme metal. No nonsense here, just maximum aggression and old school ethos. Front to back it pulverizes you and fatigues you like any brutal metal release should. This writer is a huge Converge fan and whilst that is only one part of this surprisingly well-oiled terror machine, it has a definitive tangential psychosis that is a key foundation for that glorious band. But rest assumed Umbra Vitae have their own sound and it actually is better than most recent death album releases of the last few years as the groove and song structure is both timeless and captivating. Killer release and without a doubt in the top ten for 2020.
