Interview with Burton C. Bell, a certified legend, a true artist and great guy, on the eve of his solo Australian Tour. By Mark Jenkins.
Interview with Burton C. Bell, a certified legend, a true artist and great guy, on the eve of his solo Australian Tour.
Burton C. Bell is a man who is always moving forward. He was the voice of Fear Factory for 31 years, but he is so much more than that. He is a fantastic writer, photographer, and true creative in every way.
So I was ecstatic to chat with this astute artist and go beyond the drama that, to be honest, most journalists are fixated on. The body of work he has produced is solid and still ongoing. As he has said:
I NEVER INTEND TO RETIRE FROM CREATIVITY
-This epic solo tour will be tested on Australian soil, a place Burton has toured many times and is so familiar with
-Burton acknowledges that Australian fans get his body of work and understand heavy music well
-the new singles and what is to follow
-I discussed the stunning LA show last Dec, where the new singles (plus the crushing new one: Savages) were dropped to annihilating style, as expected
The sensational band he has gathered for the audio warfare coming next
-How whilst the songs are reflective, the key is savage
music focusing on heavy, groovy, dark and moody, all hallmarks of his style throughout his whole career
-How he is not a legacy artist, he moves forward and creativity never ceases
-his other musical projects and their representation on this tour
-other equally important projects, including a lifelong love for photography, his brilliant Paradise Found exhibit and his graphic novel work
and so much more!!!
(all interviews we produce are on our YouTube channel)
Enjoy and take the time to explore his ingenious and broad-ranged catalogue of works. Also, note that he is touring as an independent artist with no label or major financial support. So go see the shows, buy merch and music, his books etc.
