Eight Count- Out for Blood. FFO: Tough and gritty hardcore.

Eight Count-Out for Blood. As previously stated, the waters of nasty Frankston produce some of the hardest and most aggressive hardcore we have heard in years. Out for Blood builds on the solid catalogue this band has produced and each release steps it up two or three levels. Now we have their best release, six uncompromising tracks of muscular and warlike straight-down-the-line hardcore, free of all the trendy bullshit that is polluting hardcore worldwide at present. The additional guitarist to the lineup adds the brawn to the lineup and Oz's current best vocalist at the wheel is a foundation of deep and belligerent bass/drums that sound like an armed regiment. King Hit continues with their boxing-titled tracks and is exactly what an intro should be; forceful and knuckle-dragging tough hardcore. Then we have Sir Scott Vogel of Terror guesting on the second track, Revenge which is fully Melbourne Hardcore meets LA not only vocally, but with a super almost Suicidal/Beowulf-type tone. Memorable and antagonistic as Eight Count always is. Watch It Fall sounds like an amalgamation of the band's best tracks in one; the groove, the catchiness and the evil that sounds like the band is going to sneak up on you in the night and murder you. Oh yes, I love that Blood for Blood vibe this band has. 3199 is a fun kind of interval track that personally I don't see the point of tbh, but mostly because I want more tracks on each release and an album FFS-just do it lads!. Born for War has all the sensational ingredients of a classic hardcore track with plenty of well-written riffs and that two-step energy the band is known for. These dudes always have the knack of writing these solid classics that mix Hatebreed with Terror and Merauder. The closer is the absolute highlight of this release, the broad-shouldered Dog House Rules. This penetrates your brain on the first listen, and vocally and structure wise has more flair than previous work to me sounds like the style the band is leaning into. We also have some insane guitarwork that is thick and utterly carnivorous. Beast of a track and the best track the band has ever dropped. Stay turned to this band, because they ain't stopping.
