WOMB TO TOMB MINI INTERVIEW FOR THE MASSIVE UNHOLY GOOD FRIDAY GIG
WOMB TO TOMB MINI INTERVIEW FOR THE MASSIVE UNHOLY GOOD FRIDAY GIG
WOMB TO TOMB (Frankston legends!!! — one-off reunion)
What does it feel like getting back in the room together after time away — is it muscle memory or does it feel like learning each other again?WOMB TO TOMB:
It's been nice to hang out again after a couple of years. The songs are pretty full on. Lots of different bits the guitars have to get right but we were basically back to a level everyone is happy with after 3 rehearsals. Rizzo has been doing a few shows with Blood Duster so he's probably the most practised out of the 4 of us. He still hits good for an old bloke hahaha.
What made this specific show the right one to come back for?
WOMB TO TOMB:
Timing worked. Im a big fan of Beanflipper and DC twisted my arm
Is this genuinely a one-off, or are you leaving the door open — and how honest are you being with yourselves about that?
WOMB TO TOMB:
We haven't planned any other shows or anything, so yeah. Let's see how it goes. Rehearsals have been fun mid-week late nights with beers and laughs
When you split, what was left unfinished — and does this show settle any of that?
WOMB TO TOMB:
We had a few songs semi-written, but not delving into that stuff. Our last show was supporting Pungent Stench, and we did play at least one unreleased song live. This is basically just gonna be all the songs we recorded/released
For people who missed Womb To Tomb the first time around, who are you and what were you about?
WOMB TO TOMB:
We started rehearsing in 2017, I think. It's an extreme metal band with influences lots of different styles from early hardcore punk and grind to more polished prog sounding shit like Carcass heartwork. It's definitely more in your face than nerd metal (opeth, dream theater etc) shit though. I dunno have a listen. You tell me!
What did you put out during your run, and which of those releases do you think captured the band best?
WOMB TO TOMB:
We only released a split 7" and 2 EPs on a 12". I think the first EP (self-titled) is a bit more punk-sounding than Death Abroad. I like 'em both
Frankston has its own identity and energy — how much of that shaped what Womb To Tomb was and is?
WOMB TO TOMB:
I live and fuckin breathe that Frankston identity and energy man. WTT wouldn't exist without it and WTT also helped create it. We started when Nembutolik and Goat Shaman were the work experience kids at Singing Bird haha
Are you hyped for this epic show on 3rd April for UNHOLY GOOD FRIDAY?
WOMB TO TOMB:
