Belgian death metal institution Aborted is set to devastate Australia this January, bringing their latest horror-soaked opus "Vault of Horrors" to stages across the country. Fresh off a relentless European touring cycle and armed with Nuclear Blast's backing, the band—led by founding mastermind Sven de Caluwé—is ready to unleash their trademark blend of surgical brutality and cinematic terror on Aussie audiences.

We sat down with guitarist Daníel Máni Konráðsson—formerly of Icelandic tech-death wizards Ophidian I—to discuss his transition into one of extreme metal's most punishing live acts, the beast that is "Vault of Horrors," working with producer Dave Otero, juggling multiple bands, and what Australian metalheads can expect when Aborted hits the stage alongside Archspire, Polaris, Soulfly, Abbath and more at the massive Froth & Fury Festival.

From lineup upheavals to Nuclear Blast ambitions, from Reykjavik's underground to Belgium's death metal royalty—this is Aborted unfiltered.
